Course Description:

This Erasmus+ course is designed for teachers, school leaders, and education professionals who work in multicultural and multilingual learning environments. The training provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to manage diversity, foster inclusion, and support the integration of migrant or refugee students into school communities.

Through interactive workshops, simulations, and group reflections, participants explore the concepts of cultural identity, bias, and intercultural communication in education. They will gain a deeper understanding of migration dynamics in Europe and learn how to transform classrooms into spaces of belonging, empathy, and cooperation.

The course also showcases the Dutch approach to migrant education, where intercultural dialogue, language support, and inclusive pedagogy are central elements. Field visits to schools and community centers in Haarlem and Amsterdam illustrate successful examples of integration, mentorship, and collaboration between teachers, families, and local authorities.

By the end of the course, participants will develop an Intercultural Action Plan tailored to their own institution, aimed at promoting diversity, preventing discrimination, and building stronger European values within their school community.

Strengthen intercultural communication and understanding
